We’ll be up early to enjoy the light breaking over the forest and lake, hearing the birds and seeing the animals come to life. But now we’re traveling over the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley with views of the escarpment as we journey through Masai country.

With the expanse of the Masai Mara National Reserve spread before us, you’ll know you have arrived someplace special. Kenya’s most popular park, the reserve is world-famous for its incredible density of wildlife and uring the Great Migration (July – October) an unending torrent of gazelle, wildebeest, and zebra streaming into the park. Depending on the season, witness the Great Migration as thousands of wildebeest and zebras move across the plains. After breakfast, we get right on the road back towards the Ngorongoro Crater National Park.

Our drive takes us back through the Serengeti via a different route, offering plenty of opportunities to spot the animals that eluded you on day two. As far as the eye can see, you’ll spot thousands upon thousands of animals in herds; wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators. You will have the chance to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself; the lion.

We\'ll start our day immediately after breakfast, driving through the plains of Togoro and the Mbuzi Mawe kopjes on our way to cross the Banagi River into the Seronera region of the Central Serengeti. Along the way, you\'ll spot everything from the enigmatic dik-diks to towering elephants, and everything in between. The Seronera is often known as \'big cat country\', and its kopjes and acacias provide an excellent opportunity to spot prides of lazy lions, sleek cheetahs out on the hunt, and leopards overseeing everything from their lofty perches. The region\'s hippo pools and wide-open spaces provide ample opportunities for game viewing.

After an early breakfast, we will set off to Ngorongoro Crater, the perfect time of day for spotting wildlife. You will enjoy an unforgettable game drive across the crater floor, with a stop for a picnic lunch beside a scenic lake inhabited by hippos and migratory birds. Known as an animal “oasis,” the crater offers one of the best chances to see Africa’s legendary Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo. Formed over two million years ago by a massive volcanic eruption that left behind a perfectly intact caldera, Ngorongoro is a true natural wonder. Inside this breathtaking landscape, you may encounter zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and hippos, along with flocks of flamingos brightening the Soda Lake. Overhead, hawks and vultures circle while storks, ibis, and cranes fill the wetlands. After an afternoon filled with incredible wildlife sightings, we will drive back to Arusha and then proceed directly to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey
