Ngorongoro Crater to Mto wa Mbu
We will set out early in the morning for the Ngorongoro Crater, as dawn offers the best chance to spot wildlife, particularly members of the famous “Big Five.” This remarkable group includes Africa’s most powerful animals—the mighty elephant, stealthy leopard, fierce lion, charging rhino, and resilient buffalo. The morning will be spent on a relaxed game drive, followed by a picnic lunch beside a hippo-filled pond, where we can enjoy our snacks while watching these massive creatures splash and play. Ngorongoro Crater is a natural wonder, formed millions of years ago when a towering volcano erupted and collapsed, creating an intact caldera unlike any other in the world. Its steep walls provide a unique sanctuary where countless species thrive. Visitors can expect to encounter zebra, wildebeest, hippos, and playful hyenas, along with flocks of elegant flamingos resting at Soda Lake. Overhead, vultures and hawks soar in search of carrion, while storks, ibis, and cranes gather along the water’s edge. After lunch, our game drive will conclude, and we will continue our journey to Mto wa Mbu. You will spend the evening in serenity, enjoying a freshly prepared hot dinner before settling in for the night.
