Departing from Johannesburg early in the morning we drive along a scenic route to the Kruger National Park. Near the entrance gate we transfer to a specially designed open safari vehicle. Game viewing begins as soon as we enter the gates, and we look for giraffe, zebra and various antelope species on our way to the camp, where we arrive by sunset. Dinner will either be prepared by your guide or our dedicated chef, or may be enjoyed in the camp restaurant. Fall asleep to the sound of hippos snorting, hyenas calling or lions roaring in the distance.

We rise before the sun and embark on a morning game drive in the Kruger National Park in search of animals. While looking for wildlife we visit waterholes, lookout points and beautiful picnic spots, stopping at regular intervals so you can stretch your legs. We may return to camp for breakfast, but the program is flexible. On some winter mornings, we might have breakfast before departing on our morning game drive. At other times, we may enjoy breakfast along the way, at a picnic site in the bush, before returning to our camp around lunchtime. In the afternoon we head out on another game drive and return to the camp at sunset for dinner. Dinner will usually be prepared by your guide or by our dedicated chef, and may take the form of a traditional South African braai (barbecue), weather permitting. Alternatively, we may enjoy dinner in the camp\'s restaurant.

 Our time is spent game viewing. The best times to do this is in the early morning and late afternoon, when the sun is not too hot and the animals are more active. Our schedule is flexible and we do not have strict limits to the duration of game drives. Sometimes, we may even stay out all day to see more of the park, if our guests are keen for such a long drive.

Optional Extra: Panorama Route with extra cost

As an optional extra activity, it is possible to book a day tour of the scenic Panorama Route on this day, instead of morning and afternoon game drives. If you book this option, our representative will collect you from Skukuza camp in the morning, take you to see the highlights of the Panorama Route with its breathtaking view points and waterfalls, and return you back to camp at the end of the day. Lunch is for your own account. Should you wish to do this, it needs to be booked in advance.

Kruger National Park and Departure

This morning we head out on a final early morning game drive. If we are lucky we may see wild dogs or another rare animal that we have not seen before. After breakfast, it is time to pack up and start heading back toward the gate, where we swop over to our air-conditioned minibus for the drive back to Johannesburg. We normally arrive back in Johannesburg between 5 - 6 pm, depending on the traffic. We can also drop you in Nelspruit on request. If you are continuing to another destination, such as a safari lodge in one of the adjacent private game reserves, this can be arranged and you will be collected at the gate. If you have an onward flight that same evening, please inform us so we can keep that in mind. Please do not book an international flight departing before 9pm in the evening on your last day.
