Karatu or Mto wa Mbu to Serengeti National Park
Your adventure begins early in the morning as we drive from Karatu or Mto wa Mbu through the scenic Ngorongoro highlands toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views and spot wildlife even before entering the park. Once inside, you’ll spend the day on thrilling game drives across the endless plains, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, and herds of wildebeest and zebra. In the late afternoon, you will be dropped off at your camp for the overnight.

We start the day with an early morning game drive in the central Serengeti, where the savannah comes alive with bird songs as the rising sun lights up the vast landscape. Guided by fresh tracks on the ground, your guide will search for predators in action. Later, we journey onward to the Ngorongoro Crater, where dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided.

Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu or Mto wa Mbu
After an early breakfast, we’ll head straight to Ngorongoro Crater, the best time to catch sight of its incredible wildlife. Today’s adventure includes a game drive across the crater floor with a stop for a picnic lunch by a small lake, home to hippos and migratory birds. Thanks to the rich ecosystem inside the crater, there’s a strong chance of spotting all members of the famed “Big Five”: the powerful lion, massive elephant, elusive leopard, formidable rhino, and mighty buffalo. Ngorongoro Crater is truly remarkable—formed over two million years ago when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed, creating one of the world’s largest intact calderas. Within this natural wonder, you may encounter zebras, wildebeest, hippos, and playful hyenas, as well as elegant flamingos along the Soda Lake. Overhead, hawks and vultures soar in search of prey, while storks, ibis, and cranes add to the spectacle of birdlife. After a rewarding afternoon filled with sightings, we’ll begin our return journey to Karatu, Mto wa Mbu, or Arusha.
