5 Days Private Mid-Range South Serengeti Migration Safari from Moshi in Tanzania (2026 - 2027) - Tour details
Moshi - South Serengeti National Park (Ndutu Area)
The migration safari begins early on the first day with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi. You’ll head towards the Ndutu region, a 5.5-hour drive covering 260 kilometers. Two hours into the journey, you’ll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), where the landscape transforms from hilly forests to open plains and green grasslands. Upon reaching Ndutu, you'll embark on a half-day game drive, including a picnic lunch break. Sweeping grasslands extend into the Serengeti, and Ndutu is a key route for the annual migration of over 2 million wildebeests, along with zebras, antelopes, and gazelles. During the migration season from December to April, the plains become calving grounds and a nursery, attracting predators hunting vulnerable young wildebeests. The area is also home to waterholes like Ndutu Lake and Lake Masek, offering abundant wildlife during the dry season. The game drive ends around 5 PM, and you’ll head to your accommodation for a freshly prepared dinner and rest.
